How To Buy BitSong Using Coinbase

A Friendly Guide to Funding Your BitSong Wallet with BTSG (No Technical Jargon Needed)

Introduction

Welcome! If you’ve already created your BitSong wallet (either via Keplr or the BitSong App), congratulations, you’re ready for the next step: putting BTSG tokens into that wallet. Think of BTSG as the currency you’ll use to participate in buy and sell music, staking, and more. This guide will walk you through two simple options:

  1. Depositing BTSG from another wallet or friend, and
  2. Buying BTSG via Coinbase’s onramp integrated directly in the BitSong App.

We’ll explain every click, like showing grandma how to use her new smartphone, so you’ll have BTSG in your hands (wallet) in no time.

Prerequisites

Before we dive in, make sure you have:

  1. A BitSong Wallet Already Created
  2. Internet Connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
  3. A modern web browser on desktop or mobile (Chrome, Brave, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc).
  4. Email, Google Account or Web3 Wallet to log in to the BitSong App.

Once your BitSong wallet exists, you can access all of our services, music purchases, DeFi, staking, governance, and more. Let’s get you funded!

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Log In to the BitSong App

Open your browser and go to BITSONG APP

On the welcome screen, choose how to log in:

  • Google: Tap the Google button, select your account, and grant permission.
    • Email: Enter your email, click Continue, check your inbox for a one-time code, enter it, and click Verify.
    • Keplr or Leap: If you prefer, connect your Keplr or Leap wallet directly.

Once logged in, you’ll land on your Dashboard, this is where the magic happens.

2. Access the “Buy / Deposit / Send” Buttons

In your Wallet panel, you’ll see three buttons in the top-right corner:

  • BUY
  • DEPOSIT
  • SEND

We’ll focus on DEPOSIT and BUY to get BTSG into your account.

3A. Deposit BTSG from Another Wallet (If You Already Have BTSG)

If you or a friend already hold BTSG in a different wallet, you can simply transfer it:

  • Click (or tap) DEPOSIT.
    • Choose “From a Crypto Wallet”.
    • From the asset list, select BTSG.
    • You’ll see a BTSG wallet address (and a QR code).
    • Copy that address to your clipboard, or
    • Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera (if your other wallet supports QR).
    • Open your other wallet (where you hold BTSG) and send the desired amount to this BitSong address.

Tip: This address functions like your bank’s IBAN, but in blockchain form, make sure you send only BTSG to it!

Once the transfer is confirmed on the blockchain (usually a few seconds), your BitSong App will update automatically. You’ll see your BTSG balance increase, no extra steps needed.

3B. Buy BTSG via Coinbase Onramp (If You Need to Purchase BTSG)

If you don’t yet have BTSG anywhere, use Coinbase’s onramp through our App. We’ll buy USDC first, then convert it to BTSG:

  • Click (or tap) DEPOSIT.
  • Select “Buy with credit card or bank transfer”.
  • Click Continue.
  • From the list of providers, choose Coinbase.
    • If you do not have a Coinbase account, you’ll be prompted to create one, complete KYC/ID checks, and link your credit card or bank account directly on Coinbase.
    • If you already have a verified Coinbase account with a linked payment method, a Coinbase popup will appear.
  • In the Coinbase popup:
    • Enter the amount in Euros (or your local fiat) that you want to spend to buy USDC (Coinbase’s stablecoin).
    • If you have multiple funding sources (cards or bank accounts) in Coinbase, select the one you prefer.
    • Click “Preview Buy” to see fees and total USDC you’ll receive.
    • Confirm by clicking “Confirm”.
  • Approve the transaction in your bank’s app or Coinbase if prompted.
    • Wait a few seconds to a few minutes for Coinbase to complete the purchase.
    • Once Coinbase confirms, close the Coinbase popup.
  • Back in the BitSong App, refresh your Dashboard. You should now see your USDC balance appear.

⚠️ Note: This step is handled entirely on Coinbase’s secure platform. BitSong never touches your fiat or payment details, it simply integrates Coinbase’s onramp for convenience.

4. Convert USDC to BTSG

Now that you have USDC in your BitSong App, let’s turn it into BTSG:

  • In the Wallet panel, click (or tap) BUY.
  • In the buy window:
    • Enter the amount of USDC you want to spend (e.g., 50 USDC).
    • The system will automatically show how many BTSG you’ll receive and highlight the small network fee (in USDC).
  • Click BUY.
  • If you used email or Google account, a password prompt appears. Enter the same password you configured when you created your wallet (this password encrypts your wallet locally).
  • Click Submit and wait for the transaction to process (usually a few seconds).

Once confirmed, you’ll see a message:

✅ Transaction Completed

Your transaction has been successfully completed. Your tokens have been delivered to your destination wallet.

Close that message and refresh your Dashboard if needed (though balances often update automatically).

🎉 Congratulations - You Now Have BTSG!
